Have you came across someone who was really awesome close to you before, then it came to a point when you just ended back to strangers? Why? What do you think are the things that may have contributed you to have shattered friendship after all? Let me ask you this, Have you had a friend who took advantage of you? What about the ones who talked behind your back or false rumors about you? Such factors or experience may be a nightmare for you which will eventually shatter your trust. Always remember that when it comes to friends, quality is better than quantity. You have to be selective in choosing friends, It may give you negative insinuation but wise people really are selective on real friends. If only negative traits come to mind, it might be better to look for better friends. The more desperate you are for friends, the more likely you will settle for the wrong kind.
Choose people whom you go along with, who bring out the best in you, not on your worst. People around you somehow influence you on how you talk, act and think. We may say we have our own prejudices but they give you the most volume of influence whether you like it or not.
Stupid ones are the kind you can do without! Also, if you’re just being moved around at their whim, you deserve better than that. Better cut off ties with those who insist to change just to conform on their way of life. You may have fewer friends but you’ll feel better about yourself and you’ll
open the door for the better friendships. Just take off your binders and you would realize how plenty of better friends there are. Genuine friends are always there when we need them. you’ll get surrounded with real ones if you live your life being you.
On our part, we also need to instill on our minds that we also have responsibilities as friends to keep it going. Ultimately, we need to show interest on our friends’ welfare. Take note, being too self centered is anonymous to being so selfish. We wouldn’t expect perfections though. We all stumble many times but this will be the best yardstick to gauge our friendship and will make us stronger in the long run.
So live by upright standards and others who are striving to do the same will be more likely to find you. They will be the best kind of FRIENDS you’ll get ever! Being selective is not bad, You’re just being wise. Choose someone who will help you clean the mess though they weren’t even the ones who brought the mess. Your kind of friends speaks more about you and will also define you. Happy choosing! May everyday be friendship day to everyone! May GOD bless my real friends more! 🙂
Like what I’ve mentioned on my last post, It was a surprise trip when my friend Redz and I decided to see La Presa. La Presa (originally known a Sitio Pungayan) is located in Sto. Tomas in Tuba Benguet. Tuba is a nearby town in Baguio about an hour trip away from the city proper. La Presa is where the famous ABS-CBN teleserye FOREVERMORE was shoot for about 8 months (October 2014 until May 2015). It was starred by the heartthrob Enrique Gil and the modest gorgeous girl Liza Soberano.
From Bakakeng, where we stayed overnight with Redz, We took a cab to La Presa for only 200php. Not like during the peak of the visits, The cab is costing 400php to 500php one way. The cab driver was nice. Since Redz and I were speaking in Iloco dialect like him, we had a strong connection since the start of the trip. He even taught us how to get back to the city.
From a simple house owned by a simple resident of Baguio City, it now turned out to an iconic house where tourist from all over the Philippines are extremely fascinated to see it. There is an entrance fee for 20.00php though but worth it. Some stores are also scattered all over. We bought some souvenirs like purse, chains and shirts. Other than that, there are also stores where to buy goods for pasalubong, good thing is I won’t need to go to Baguio town proper to buy those like what we’ve initially planned. From there, there’s a jeepney going straight to Baguio. This indeed has somehow helped the tourism in the Philippines and hopefully it would last to help the business owners too.
It was a 23rd of November, Monday when we visited La presa. It was expected that the place should be populated, but surprisingly, It was quiet with only few visitors. Was it because it’s a weekday? Or probably because the fascination is getting frail now? I had a little chat with some residents and I’ve learned that during the shoot, the place was crowded. One of the T-shirt vendors even bragged that he earned about a million in a month in the store he was just renting. Now he bought a property where he can resume his souvenir business. Great one Kuya! A huge Kudos to you!
But my question is, how long will the people be addicted to this place? One thing is, the place doesn’t have much ways for sanitation. How can they supply water all over the place? I hope the government would look into this, if by chance, tourism in this place would continue to burn on. These things needs to be seriously considered to keep mother earth safe too. Then again, shouldn’t we need to consider cleanliness everywhere? 🙂
I worked in Baguio from 2007 until 2010 which made me earned circle of great fabulous friends. I left Baguio mainly because I need to scour better opportunities and started working in April 2010 in Manila. I’d say It was a great stay because other than having such a good experience in my career, the perfect bonus was priceless – my friends.
The last time I went for my Baguio visit was in July 2010. Due to time constraints, I never had a chance to catch sight of them again until last November. Other than my thirst for a fresh and cold air, I need to see them too to meet and greet after half a decade of not seeing each other physically.
November 21, I left Manila at about 7:00 am and arrived in Baguio at about 2:00pm. It was quite warm outside when my friend Noah fetched me & went straight to Bonifacio St. at my grandma’s house. I never expected the warmth but not as the scorching heat here in Manila.
Day one, after few hours of resting, Noah & I went to see our landlady in Loakan (where we resided for over 2years). Day two was well spent because we started the day walking along Session Road to feel the cool breezy air and went to seeing Ukay-ukay since I want to buy myself a pair of boots. Ukay-Ukay for those who doesn’t know it yet, Those are ready to wear goods which are slightly used which were imported from different parts of the world which was made familiar mainly in Baguio.
After lunch, we then went to Burnham park and experienced riding on the boats (150php/hour) & bikes (40.00php/hour). We’ve spent about 4 hours in the park then we went walking again in Session and dropped by Cathedral.
The road was bit crowded since lots of Manileños came there due to the long weekend (As we have APEC summit ongoing here in Manila then). The third day, It was an ambush when we decided to see La presa. More of it on my next post. My three days stay was tiring but it was a fun filled experience. My friend Noah and Redz where the most I’ve counted on during my stay but I thank all my friends there who wanted to see me too but we failed. Lastly, hats off to those cab drivers who were very polite and giving me back my change up to the last cent. Baguio people really are awesome! May the dear LORD bless you more for your greatness. Next time around my dearest treasures! 🙂
10th January: T’was Saturday afternoon about 4ish when we got up and prepared for a night swimming celebrating my cousin RJ’s 23rd birthday. Not because we have much time and money to spend, but it was his wish on his day aside from just having a typical food trip and drinking session at home. My cousin is fond of outdoor adventures. And because it’s his day, about 6 of us decided to come with him. Himself prepared pork adobo, shanghai, pansit, fried chicken, fruit salad for our desert and a lot more.
We took a cab from Eastwood to Antipolo. Since we were not familiar with the route, my friend Kaye had turned her GPS on to serve as our guide along the way. Surprisingly, the GPS had misled us on the wrong path. Haha! Credits to Kaye Beltran for the hard work on the GPS. 😀 Then we just decided to ride a tricylce bound to the resort, which is luckily just few minutes away from where we were (on the cab).
At the resort, Pauleen (RJ’s friend) has been waiting for us, already arrived there ahead of us since he just reside just nearby. Had a funny experience along the way as he (Pauleen) is a gay person and is fun to be with. What a fun-filled experience it is to be with them. After few minutes of resting in the resort, Other friends also came (Sam and Angel) with the drinking session and all that.
We also experienced the disco pool. Never had a chance to stay long as it’s a bit cold and I had cough then so I just decided to join the drinkers’ session. Had a taste of wine but not much though. Half of the group decided to spend much on the pool but some had to drink or stay at the room to take rest.
But the most fun part is, when someone fell off from the huge dinosaur statue after the disco pool session. Everyone was already drunk when some of us went to the pool. We had so much fun that night but that moment was the highlight among all. 😀
What an exciting night indeed. For adventurers within Manila, this is one of the best recommended place I can give since it’s affordable. Our entrance costs 180php each, cottage of 2,100php & the room where we secured our things is costing about 2000php overnight. It took us just about 45 minutes or so to reach the resort. Not bad! About 7ish in the morning when we left the resort after a nap. Thanks again Jenefer Belarmino for lending me your beautiful DSLR cam. But of course, not too late. Happy birthday to my gorgeous cousin, Stay nice and humble. Mabuhay everyone! 😀
First, I would like to extend my apologies to those who are following my page as I haven’t been updating this yet for ages as I have been busy at work. It’s Christmas and I know it will be a special day to everyone so I allotted time to update my page specifically because I have a lot to express this date. I never felt too bad as I was given a chance to see my family afar. Working far takes a lot of emotional effort this season but for me I really am blessed. I have a lot more things to be thankful for, yet the exact words is not as extreme to describe how my heart feel deep within. To my new Boss Ms. Mimay, I cannot thank you enough for having me as a part of your team and I know you’ve decided it this way. I don’t have much to give back but hard work and prayers to keep our project more prosperous and in a good and steady relationship with Mr. Richard Branson. 😀 To my Mobius team, I cannot thank you enough for making me feel I fit in to the project and one thing I’d like you to know is, I cannot afford to disappoint you for giving me blessings and opportunities I don’t think I even deserve (yet). Being a part of the beautiful SME’s is incredibly heartwarming and it really inspired me a lot to work harder as I didn’t expect it this early. My gratitude is immeasurable.
And like what I’ve said on my previous post, What I’ve started in a year is just the tip of the iceberg I have a long way to run and I’ll make sure this will make my stay with this project worthwhile and I wish I could inspire more people to stay happy with the company and the project. I couldn’t think of anything more to wish for but just to have a good health.
My family who serves is my inspiration is the reason for who and what I have now and with God’s will. My parents and siblings who are always been so supportive to me is a plus for me to push harder (like what I’ve been mentioning from previous posts).
A lot in the list are scribbled for my 2014 plan and I am determined to achieve all those things for me and my family. Tatay is always been missing me like I do but he knows I wanted something more to accomplish so he understands much if I’ve been so busy at work. To all of you Happy 2014! Hugs and kisses everyone!
Flashback to June of last year when I was on an extreme dismay of what company I opted to work for as I was intentionally looking for one I can stay for good. I never imagined myself out from a roadblock before I see Accenture giving me the brightest world I have ever thought of.
Yes I really am proud to mention Accenture’s name to whoever I meet and will always be proud of it. Last week of July last year when a stranger guy who turned out to be my angel paved the way for Accenture to open it’s door for me. Thank you! July 31,2012 it was when I first entered the Accenture door meeting awesome lovely friends which I can say it really is a blessing for me to see them all my life working with them on a UK based project where I deeply fell in-love with.
I’ve got list of priorities scribbled but there is only one thing that I want myself to watch out for, my quality scores! It has been tedious for the first days as I was struggling to teach myself the best techniques and learned to embrace tough and bloody lessons more than I could love myself! At last everything has been paid off and I know there’s more in it for me to learn a lot. Back in January this year, I was awarded for being a consistent performer for call quality and gave me a lot more encouragement and inspiration to improve further and would never stop from learning new things over and over. Other than the love from the people around me specially my family, having a positive attitude is a plus for me to make each month worth bragging about.
One year literally is a no big deal yet, For me, I still have a long way to go. A lot more to learn about and more effort to exert. I am just at the tip of the iceberg and I know for sure it’s a lot more deeper for me to dive. As the next years will roll on, I will be imagining myself in a position who also inspire other people who would see me around the workplace. I would still humbly say, I am still willing to learn and would still welcome criticisms for me to improve more. We’ve come a long way, but there’s more work to do, I must continue to forge ahead as there’s a lot in store for me to grab. I learned to just stay positive, learn to love my job as it would definitely love me back in the long run.
To all my mentors who supported me all through out, I cannot thank you enough for treating me so nicely while pushing to strive more and believing in what I can achieve, The guidance that you’ve provided me is paramount! This really means a lot to me! 🙂 To my wave mates, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and I’m still hoping to see you around in the next decades to come. This is just the start! GODSPEED all! Cheers! 🙂
Happy Father’s day everyone! I was just wondering who was an angel who coined FATHER’S DAY to honor our dear beloved fathers. So I did a research. Based on the source at Google, Father’s day sprung up when a loving daughter Sonora Louise Smart Dodd from Spokane Washington was listening to a mother’s day sermon back in 1909 at her age of 27, when she has been dying to honor his father William Jackson Smart, a Civil War veteran. This campaign became viral in the USA and was eventually approved by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916.
I believe in what they say that a girl’s father is one of the most influential people in her life, from infant to toddler to tween to teen. Being said, as a daughter like Louise, this special day for our Fathers may be one of the perfect moments that I need to show my heartfelt gratitude to my dear Father. Since the day I left home and worked far, (to Baguio then in Manila now), my father did not miss any single moment to remind how to be a grown mature woman I can be. He thought me how to be an incredibly responsible daughter and sister to my siblings specially when often then not, there are tough times that my sisters, who were in college then needed my assistance. I missed the days when he carry me over to his shoulder, If I fall asleep on a sofa, he will carry me to bed. Fetch me from school with him carrying my school bag packed up with my thick and heavy books, fight and warn those people who are not just small but huge bullies, used to wake me up in the morning by kissing and scratching his beard on my cheeks. His reminder then was just a plain ” Oh anak ‘wag kang magpapalipas ng gutom” to a more complex but absurd ones “Anak baka tatanga-tanga ka jan sa Maynila masagasaan ka pa ng truck, mawalan ako ng magandang anak” (Hahahaha!) When it comes to relationship, I remember one time when he said “Anak, pag 40 (years old) ka na saka ka lang magpapa-crush ha? Pero pwede ka naman tumawad, mga 35 pwede nalang! (LOL) My father is really a funny type, now I know whom I inherited my personality from. As I am working far (FYI, I am from Cagayan Valley, northern part of the Philippines), My father used to call me on my mobile and that’s the only means that we communicate from time to time. My father never missed to talk to me without any single joke making each of my days. He made me realize that there is nothing more honorable than living through the righteous path, know how to pray and thank God in every blessings and inculcate us how obedience would be the greatest compensation a parent could receive from a child like us.
TATAY, Thank you for what I’ve become, a fully grown up woman whom you thought to appreciate what life brings, whether it’ll be bad or good, You thought me how to humbly embrace it. As your daughter, you made me realize how I am being valued and made me think that I am the most precious thing on earth you’ve ever seen. The world means a lot to me when you’re around, extra fun as the way you were, Enjoying much of the name-it-all comic tripping. I may have met a lot of man, I may marry a man in the future, but for me, you will always be the best man on earth! You’re the kind of father that any kid would wish for! I love you till forever ends! Let me end this by this question: Should everyday be a Father’s day for everyone? How about you? Tell me something about your funny stories about your Father. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, near and far!
