WHAT FRIENDS CAN BE LIKE

Have you came across someone who was really awesome close to you before, then it came to a point when you just ended back to strangers? Why? What do you think are the things that may have contributed you to have shattered friendship after all? Let me ask you this, Have you had a friend who took advantage of you? What about the ones who talked behind your back or false rumors about you? Such factors or experience may be a nightmare for you which will eventually shatter your trust. Always remember that when it comes to friends, quality is better than quantity. You have to be selective in choosing friends, It may give you negative insinuation but wise people really are selective on real friends. If only negative traits come to mind, it might be better to look for better friends. The more desperate you are for friends, the more likely you will settle for the wrong kind.

One of my favorite shots with my dearest friends.🙂

Choose people whom you go along with, who bring out the best in you, not on your worst. People around you somehow influence you on how you talk, act and think. We may say we have our own prejudices but they give you the most volume of influence whether you like it or not.

One of the wacky shots I've had with my best friend. She's the one I can always count on, through thick and thin. I love you pare. :)

Stupid ones are the kind you can do without! Also, if you’re just being moved around at their whim, you deserve better than that. Better cut off ties with those who insist to change just to conform on their way of life. You may have fewer friends but you’ll feel better about yourself and you’ll
open the door for the better friendships. Just take off your binders and you would realize how plenty of better friends there are. Genuine friends are always there when we need them. you’ll get surrounded with real ones if you live your life being you.

My guys whom I consider my second family here in Manila. They're my workmates, housemates and my VIPs in life. :)

On our part, we also need to instill on our minds that we also have responsibilities as friends to keep it going. Ultimately, we need to show interest on our friends’ welfare. Take note, being too self centered is anonymous to being so selfish. We wouldn’t expect perfections though. We all stumble many times but this will be the best yardstick to gauge our friendship and will make us stronger in the long run.

L-R: RJ (my cousin), Ate Heide, Abby, Jen, myself and Henry on our fun-filled Tagaytay trip. I chose them as my friends because they're positive people who've influenced me to be at my best. :)

So live by upright standards and others who are striving to do the same will be more likely to find you. They will be the best kind of FRIENDS you’ll get ever! Being selective is not bad, You’re just being wise. Choose someone who will help you clean the mess though they weren’t even the ones who brought the mess. Your kind of friends  speaks more about you and will also define you. Happy choosing! May everyday be friendship day to everyone! May GOD bless my real friends more!🙂

GETTING INTO ‘FOREVER’ FEVER- My La Presa trip

12584229_1127399260605025_1941975426_n

Like what I’ve mentioned on my last post, It was a surprise trip when my friend Redz and I decided to see La Presa. La Presa (originally known a Sitio Pungayan) is located in Sto. Tomas in Tuba Benguet. Tuba is a nearby town in Baguio about an hour trip away from the city proper. La Presa is where the famous ABS-CBN teleserye FOREVERMORE was shoot for about 8 months (October 2014 until May 2015). It was starred by the heartthrob Enrique Gil and the modest gorgeous girl Liza Soberano.

At Bakakeng are, On our way to Sitio la Presa, This beautiful view have enticed me to take a photo of it.

From Bakakeng, where we stayed overnight with Redz, We took a cab to La Presa for only 200php. Not like during the peak of the visits, The cab is costing 400php to 500php one way. The cab driver was nice. Since Redz and I were speaking in Iloco dialect like him, we had a strong connection since the start of the trip. He even taught us how to get back to the city.

Since I'm a huge fan of Enrique, here's the result. :P
Since I’m a huge fan of Enrique, here’s the result. At the entrance of the Sitio.🙂

From a simple house owned by a simple resident of Baguio City, it now turned out to an iconic house where tourist from all over the Philippines are extremely fascinated to see it. There is an entrance fee for 20.00php though but worth it. Some stores are also scattered all over. We bought some souvenirs like purse, chains and shirts. Other than that, there are also stores where to buy goods for pasalubong, good thing is I won’t need to go to Baguio town proper to buy those like what we’ve initially planned. From there, there’s a jeepney  going straight to Baguio. This indeed has somehow helped the tourism in the Philippines and hopefully it would last to help the business owners too.

It was a 23rd of November, Monday when we visited La presa. It was expected that the place should be populated, but surprisingly, It was quiet with only few visitors. Was it because it’s a weekday? Or probably because the fascination is getting frail now? I had a little chat with  some residents and I’ve learned that during the shoot, the place was crowded. One of the T-shirt vendors even bragged that he earned about a million in a month in the store he was just renting. Now he bought a property where he can resume his souvenir business. Great one Kuya! A huge Kudos to you!

The strawberry farm where some scenes where also taken. :)
The strawberry farm where some scenes where also taken. Sorry for the distracting cable wires.🙂

But my question is, how long will the people be addicted to this place? One thing is, the place doesn’t have much ways for sanitation. How can they supply water all over the place? I hope the government would look into this, if by chance, tourism in this place would continue to burn on. These things needs to be seriously considered to keep mother earth safe too. Then again, shouldn’t we need to consider cleanliness everywhere?🙂

REFRESHING MY HEART AND SOUL – My Baguio Trip

I worked in Baguio from 2007 until 2010 which made me earned circle of great fabulous friends. I left Baguio mainly because I need to scour better opportunities and started working in April 2010 in Manila. I’d say It was a great stay because other than having such a good experience in my career, the perfect bonus was priceless – my friends.

My view on my window whilst approaching Baguio City. Houses seemed on a bird’s eye view from afar.

The last time I went for my Baguio visit was in July 2010. Due to time constraints, I never had a chance to catch sight of them again until last November. Other than my thirst for a fresh and cold air, I need to see them too to meet and greet after half a decade of not seeing each other physically.

November 21, I left Manila at about 7:00 am and arrived in Baguio at about 2:00pm. It was quite warm outside when my friend Noah fetched me & went straight to Bonifacio St. at my grandma’s house. I never expected the warmth but not as the scorching heat here in Manila.

Day one, after few hours of resting, Noah & I went to see our landlady in Loakan (where we resided for over 2years). Day two was well spent because we started the day walking along Session Road to feel the cool breezy air and went to seeing Ukay-ukay since I want to buy myself a pair of boots. Ukay-Ukay for those who doesn’t know it yet, Those are ready to wear goods which are slightly used which were imported from different parts of the world which was made familiar mainly in Baguio.

After lunch, we then went to Burnham park and experienced riding on the boats (150php/hour) & bikes (40.00php/hour). We’ve spent about 4 hours in the park then we went walking again in Session and dropped by Cathedral.

The road was bit crowded since lots of Manileños came there due to the long weekend (As we have APEC summit ongoing here in Manila then). The third day, It was an ambush when we decided to see La presa. More of it on my next post. My three days stay was tiring but it was a fun filled experience. My friend Noah and Redz where the most I’ve counted on during my stay but I thank all my friends there who wanted to see me too but we failed. Lastly, hats off to those cab drivers who were very polite and giving me back my change up to the last cent. Baguio people really are awesome! May the dear LORD bless you more for your greatness. Next time around my dearest treasures!🙂

EARLY SUMMER ESCAPADE AT BOSAY RESORT

10th January: T’was Saturday afternoon about 4ish when we got up and prepared for a night swimming celebrating my cousin RJ’s 23rd birthday. Not because we have much time and money to spend, but it was his wish on his day aside from just having a typical food trip and drinking session at home. My cousin is fond of outdoor adventures. And because it’s his day, about 6 of us decided to come with him. Himself prepared pork adobo, shanghai, pansit, fried chicken, fruit salad for our desert and a lot more.

We took a cab from Eastwood to Antipolo. Since we were not familiar with the route, my friend Kaye had turned her GPS on to serve as our guide along the way. Surprisingly, the GPS had misled us on the wrong path. Haha! Credits to Kaye Beltran for the hard work on the GPS.😀 Then we just decided to ride a tricylce bound to the resort, which is luckily just few minutes away from where we were (on the cab).

This is just one of the attractive numerous pools I was able to take a photo of other than the disco pool as the battery cam went drained haha!
This is just one of the attractive numerous pools I was able to take a photo of other than the disco pool as the battery cam went drained haha! They call it turtle pool.

At the resort, Pauleen (RJ’s friend) has been waiting for us, already arrived there ahead of us since he just reside just nearby. Had a funny experience along the way as he (Pauleen) is a gay person and is fun to be with. What a fun-filled experience it is to be with them. After few minutes of resting in the resort, Other friends also came (Sam and Angel) with the drinking session and all that.

Our group photo to start the night while waiting for Sam & Angel. :)

We also experienced the disco pool. Never had a chance to stay long as it’s a bit cold and I had cough then so I just decided to join the drinkers’ session. Had a taste of wine but not much though. Half of the group decided to spend much on the pool but some had to drink or stay at the room to take rest.

But the most fun part is, when someone fell off from the huge dinosaur statue after the disco pool session. Everyone was already drunk when some of us went to the pool. We had so much fun that night but that moment was the highlight among all.😀

What an exciting night indeed. For adventurers within Manila, this is one of the best recommended place I can give since it’s affordable. Our entrance costs 180php each, cottage of 2,100php & the room where we secured our things is costing about 2000php overnight. It took us just about 45 minutes or so to reach the resort. Not bad! About 7ish in the morning when we left the resort after a nap. Thanks again Jenefer Belarmino for lending me your beautiful DSLR cam. But of course, not too late. Happy birthday to my gorgeous cousin, Stay nice and humble. Mabuhay everyone!😀

GIVE TODAY! A Virgin Media’s Charity Journey

I was extremely blissed hearing that Virgin Media had initiated a Charity day to reciprocate selfless giving to our needy fellows. From  the 24th of June until the 5th of July, with the fabulous efforts of the whole LOBs, everyone came together to generate 30,000php from a small 1,800php capital, which was shelled out by the operations team.

20140627_184311

From wrapping sandwiches, boiling bananas, bringing some nachos, chips, chocolates, drinks, and preparing food for lunch and putting it on the Sari Sari table on the 21st floor  is such an enormous effort that the operations specially, have shared to come up with this great huge funds. Some teams have also bought some groceries to put on the sari sari table.

20140702_171616

Cable collections SMEs also contributed funds to add on the income. This is when I felt that everyone have shared the true spirit of oneness, team work and generosity for a noble deed. Despite the tedious and busy days at work trying to catch up on their log in hours and to also manage their break schedules, everyone is helping one another just to contribute with the funds. What a fun-filled experience it is and a good spirit of team bonding for everyone.

20140702_225307

Games was also set in the pantry which includes bowling, Hoola hoop and bowl catch. Myself also got involved in the games. The camaraderie of all teams is overwhelming thinking that everyone does what they can in their own idiosyncratic way to touch lives of the less fortunate people. Our dedication and teamwork was a plus for us to grab an immeasurable joy and fulfillment to make these possible.

20140702_203754

Giving without expecting anything in return is what makes you feel more thankful for the blessings you have  from above. It’s emotionally rewarding to help others giving them an instant result to lift their spirits and see how valuable you were for them to change their lives as individuals. Then again, shouldn’t every day be a Charity Day?

POTIPOT ISLAND ESCAPADE

My colleagues’ main addiction is to have excursion out of town but I never involved myself due to the fact that I prefer to stay at home and sleep the whole day long, or probably spend my time at timezone, watch my favorite TV shows or just mainly browsing the net during my free weekend days. Never did I wish to go out of town for swimming as I can go home to my province (Cagayan Valley) instead to do such as we have plenty of beach and nice falls to visit. My workmates whom I can’t resist to come with are the culprits why my feet had landed to one of the best Islands I’ve seen so far haha!

Sunday morning at about 3ish, using a huge white van, about twelve of us went on a 6-hour trip to Zambales heading the Island. We dropped by at Lubao, Pampanga at about 5ish to witness the hot air balloon but wasn’t lucky at all as undeniably, it will really eat an hour of our time to wait for it until 6,  therefore we just decided to continue the trip straight ahead. In Candelaria Zambales, we arrived at about 9ish.

On our destination, we’re getting out of the boat.

Potipot Island  located in Uacon, Candelaria, is about 6 hours drive from Manila. Before we reached the Island, we checked in at Dawal resort which is in the mainland. The accommodation is pretty much affordable and it’s where we bought our food to bring to the Island. The resort itself is like an ordinary resort which has only 2 pools (for adult and for kids). To reach the Island, we have to ride a boat costing to 180Php back and forth which took us about 5 to 10 minutes to reach it. The Island is literally small and we can’t see any establishments other than the nipa huts for rent and the restrooms. No stores to buy food or anything but those who walk along selling tahoes (soy milk), ice creams, sweet yellow corns, etc.

This place is really good for picnic. It’s a must to bring bunch foods to eat to get rid of starving. It’s like a paradise indeed, all you can hear is the gentle ocean waves crashing, woods cracking, and the strong wind  blowing and that seemed like whispering in your ears how nice the nature is and to let you know the feeling relaxing and unwinding after a long tiring week at work. If you look around, what’s visible for you are people on their best bikinis and swim wears shouting, running or taking their group photos in the seaside. Kids also have their own yayas or parents while they’re enjoying the water in the middle of the sun.

We ended our Island trek at about 4pm and went back to the resort and I got myself plunged  into the pool as I wasn’t able to swim in the Island, had spaghetti for the snack at about 8pm and  took a rest until about 9pm for our dinner. Aris bought our dinner outside the resort as it’s a lot cheaper (only about 1,800Php with the snack). We had pansit bihon, grilled fish and shrimp sigang. We woke up at about 7am and left the resort at about 8ish. Initially, we planned to drop by the Ramon Magsaysay ancestral house in Olongapo but we failed as Manong Ricky (our driver) took a different route. One thing I’ve been wanting to see but I guess we’ll be there some other time instead. We arrived in Manila at about 2pm ready for the 3pm work (for some) but for me my shift starts at 6pm. It was an awesome journey that anyone shouldn’t miss. Other than the convenience of having an affordable transportation, It wouldn’t be that tiring and you could drop by anywhere you want. We spent just about 2,500Php in total for the astonishing 1-day trip.

Our dinner about 9pm at Dawal resort.

Thanks Jennifer Belarmino, (one of my closest workmates) who allowed me to take care of her Nikon DSLR camera having this awesome photos, To Aris who managed everything from transportation  and all, To my colleagues who pushed me to be there and to GOD above all who grant us safety all throughout the tour. Hasta luego muy bonitos! :))

A Christmas Worth Thanking for

First, I would like to extend my apologies to those who are following my page as I haven’t been updating this yet for ages as I have been busy at work. It’s Christmas and I know it will be a special day to everyone so I allotted time to update my page specifically because I have a lot to express this date. I never felt too bad as I was given a chance to see my family afar. Working far takes a lot of emotional effort this season but for me I really am blessed. I have a lot more things to be thankful for, yet the exact words is not as extreme to describe how my heart feel deep within. To my new Boss Ms. Mimay, I cannot thank you enough for having me as a part of your team and I know you’ve decided it this way. I don’t have much to give back but hard work and prayers to keep our project more prosperous and in a good  and steady relationship with Mr. Richard Branson.😀 To my Mobius team, I cannot thank you enough for making me feel I fit in to the project and one thing I’d like you to know is, I cannot afford to disappoint you for giving me blessings and opportunities I don’t think I even deserve (yet). Being a part of the beautiful SME’s is incredibly heartwarming and it really inspired  me a lot to work harder as I didn’t expect it this early.  My gratitude is immeasurable.

Unexpected gifts from special people in my life. Tita bunso, my Boss Mimay and from a friend Alex.
Unexpected gifts from special people in my life. Tita bunso, my Boss Mimay and from a friend Alex.

And like what I’ve said on my previous post, What I’ve started in a year is just the tip of the iceberg I have a long way to run and I’ll make sure this will make my stay with this project worthwhile and I wish I could inspire more people to stay happy with the company and the project. I couldn’t think of anything more to wish for but just to have a good health.

Our X'mas party held at Gateway Cubao.
With my cousin/colleague RJ on our X’mas party held at Gateway Cubao. Again, sorry for the bad photo quality.😦

My family who serves is my inspiration is the reason for who and what I have now and with God’s will. My parents and siblings who are always been so supportive to me is a plus for me to push harder (like what I’ve been mentioning from previous posts).

I was amazed ow this huge X'mas tree was built. This was taken in Gateway cubao.
I was amazed ow this huge X’mas tree was built. This was taken in Gateway cubao. Forgive me for the bad quality of the photo. Just taken using my Samsung phone.

A lot in the list are scribbled for my 2014 plan and I am determined to achieve all those things for me and my family. Tatay is always been missing me like I do but he knows I wanted something more to accomplish so he understands much if I’ve been so busy at work. To all of you Happy 2014! Hugs and kisses everyone!
